Do grandparents have any rights of custody or visitation with their grandchildren?

In Ontario, court will generally award custody and access of minor children to their biological or adoptive parents. If grandparents would like to have rights and visitation to their grandchildren, they may do so by applying to court and satisfying a judge that is in their best interests of their grandchildren to have time with them.
